About Alliance for a Better Minnesota

Alliance for a Better Minnesota (ABM) is a Minnesota-based online advocacy and communications organization working to provide cutting edge online tools for working families. ABM is focused primarily on securing major advances in progressive public policy for Minnesota.

Our goal is to bring people like you together to make our state more progressive and to share the stories of working families with the public and the media. We offer busy, concerned people fast, easy and fun ways to get involved in promoting progressive issues.

Together, we can make Minnesota better and become a loud and clear voice against the big business, special interest lobbying that makes it hard for working families to be heard.

(Note: Alliance for a Better Minnesota was formerly a state PAC in 2006. That PAC shut down, and now we’re a 501©4 organization with an affiliated 501©3 education fund and state PAC now called the Alliance for a Better Minnesota Action Fund)

ABM’s goals are to:

1. Build a stronger progressive movement in Minnesota. We will use innovative, internet-based organizing and communications strategies and tactics to dramatically expand active public support for progressive issues and policies.

2. Secure major advances in progressive public policy. Working with other progressive groups, we will use the power of real people to encourage bold solutions

Specifically, we’re working to bring all Minnesotans:

-Affordable, high-quality, health care
-Adequately funding our world-class schools so we can stay on top
-Clean lakes, rivers, air and land
-Good jobs with good benefits that help Minnesota’s economy
-Protection of our constitutional civil rights
-The protection of privacy, including reproductive freedom
-A voice in government that’s not clouded by big business and special interest lobbying
-Safe roads, bridges and infrastructure for healthy communities in all parts of the state
-Fair tax policy and budgeting that invests in our state’s future
